Our impact

DUO for a JOB

Bridging the gap between talent and opportunity through intergenerational mentoring.

For many young people with a migrant background, access to employment is blocked not by talent — but by networks, confidence and unfamiliarity with local labour markets. DUO for a JOB addresses these barriers through intergenerational mentoring that pairs young job-seekers with experienced volunteers aged 50 and over.

What mentors help with

  • Navigating job applications and interviews
  • Understanding workplace culture
  • Building self-confidence and persistence
  • Accessing professional networks

The results are powerful: thousands of participants have been supported into jobs or training, with stronger employment outcomes and long-lasting community impact.

Our partnership

The Euroclear Foundation is focused on better life chances for underserved youth — including those at risk of being locked out of employment pathways. DUO for a JOB strengthens employability ecosystems by connecting young people to lived experience, professional networks and practical tools, turning isolation into access and uncertainty into a plan.

The Foundation is supporting DUO for a JOB to address a 2025 funding shortfall and enable a growth plan to recruit and train additional mentors in Brussels and Paris — expanding the programme's capacity to support more young jobseekers. Trained mentors can accompany multiple mentees over time, extending impact well beyond a single cohort.

A note on gender equity

Young women from immigrant backgrounds face a range of compounded barriers to employment, stemming from both their gender and their origins. These include heightened parental responsibilities, multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination, financial insecurity and limited recognition of informal skills. Our support for DUO for a JOB reflects our commitment to develop concrete, tailored solutions that address these specific needs.
