Our impact

42 Belgium

Opening the door to tech careers for those the traditional system leaves behind.

Digital skills are now a gateway to employability — yet access to quality tech training remains deeply unequal, particularly for people who do not fit traditional academic pipelines or cannot afford paid programmes. 42 Belgium exists to remove those barriers and open a credible, free route into tech for more people.

42 Belgium provides free IT training through a peer-learning, project-based approach grounded in proven pedagogy and strong job outcomes. Rather than conventional classroom instruction, the model builds practical competence through real projects — mirroring how people actually learn and work in technical environments.

"The Euroclear Foundation supports 42 Belgium as an impact accelerator, helping strengthen its ecosystem, expand access for underserved learners and improve pathways from training into employment — so that talent, not background, determines what comes next."

— Thomas Churchill, Group Communications Director, Euroclear – 42 Belgium Advisory Council Member

Our partnership

Our mission prioritises better life chances for underserved youth, including pathways into skills and employment. 42 Belgium directly advances that goal by expanding vocational skills pathways into high-demand tech roles and widening participation — including reaching more women and young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training).

The Foundation is continuing its support for 42 Belgium's tuition-free IT training model, contributing to the objective of growing active learners and reaching more underserved groups — with a focus on employability outcomes and inclusive access.

A learner's story

Svitlana joined 42 Belgium in April 2025. Originally from Ukraine, she had worked for over a decade as an accountant before relocating to Belgium — and decided to transition into IT, with a particular interest in data analysis. Alongside her studies, she is part of the tutor team, contributing to exam supervision, workshops and student events.

"I worked more than 10 years as an accountant in Ukraine, but then I came to Belgium. IT was something I wanted to do, and I joined 42 Belgium. It's so inspiring. I like the flexibility because I can combine my study with raising my child. Everyone is really open and helpful so I feel at home here."
