KYBIX – FAQ

A Euroclear portfolio company

As part of our continued commitment to strengthen our offering and deliver greater value, GlobalWatch will transition to KYBIX, a successor platform launched in partnership with Euroclear and Liminal (venture studio founded by Temasek, an investment company headquartered in Singapore). KYBIX has been created to operate and further develop the GlobalWatch service under a dedicated legal and operational structure, while ensuring continuity of service and governance standards. KYBIX marks a significant step forward in the evolution of the platform, enabling continued modernisation and development while maintaining continuity of our service and support.

The below FAQ provides a detailed explanation of the transition, including governance, data processing and legal considerations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is KYBIX (and GlobalWatch)?

KYBIX builds on the foundations of GlobalWatch, a KYB/KYC data collaboration platform supporting the Funds business, and will, over time, offer:

  • a single place to exchange and maintain KYB/KYC data with counterparties, open across industries and beyond Euroclear ecosystem
  • AI-enabled automatically pre-filled and refreshed profiles
  • alignment with Euroclear’s security, compliance, confidentiality and operational standards
  • additional value-added services over time (e.g. policy configuration, risk indicators)

The KYBIX website is currently under construction, but feel free to already reach out to info@kybix.com. Stay tuned !

Is KYBIX owned by Euroclear?

KYBIX is a platform operated by the company named 2brdge Limited incorporated in the United Kingdom, created in partnership between Euroclear and Liminal, venture studio founded by Temasek. This structure allows KYBIX to operate as an independent platform operator, while continuing to align with Euroclear’s high standards for security, compliance, confidentiality and operational resilience.

Why is GlobalWatch moving out of Euroclear?

The transition to KYBIX is a strategic evolution. Moving the operation of GlobalWatch into KYBIX allows the service to:

  • be managed by a dedicated company fully focused on product development, innovation and future growth
  • expand the service beyond the Euroclear ecosystem and beyond the funds industry
  • deliver faster new capabilities while maintaining strong governance
  • offer a scalable cloud-based infrastructure aligned with Euroclear requirements

For clients, this means continuity of service today and more capabilities over time, without disruption.

What happens to my data and counterparty profiles during the transition?

Your existing GlobalWatch data and profiles will be migrated to KYBIX provided the latest applicable terms and conditions have been accepted.

The data of Entities that have not accepted the latest terms and conditions by the applicable deadline will not be migrated. In practice this means that only the data of your counterparties that have signed the terms and conditions will be migrated.

Will the service or interface change?

No immediate changes to the service, interface or user workflows are introduced as part of the transition to KYBIX.

In practice, the transition involves:

  • a change in the technical hosting and operational environment of the platform
  • no change to the purpose of the service (KYB/KYC/AML and due‑diligence support)
  • no change to how users access or use the service on a day‑to‑day basis

From a user perspective, the service continues to function in the same way, with the same type of features and workflows. The transition therefore constitutes an infrastructure and operating environment change, not a change to the nature, scope or purpose of the service.

From an operational and data‑hosting standpoint, servers remain hosted in central Sweden and dedicated GlobalWatch client services remain available throughout the transition period to support users and ensure continuity.

Clients will continue to access the same interface and workflows and no service interruption is expected as a result of the transition.

Any future evolution of the interface or functionality will be communicated in advance and supported appropriately.

From a legal standpoint, such future evolutions do not alter users’ contractual rights or obligations as defined in the applicable terms and conditions

What about contracts and responsibilities?

Contractual arrangements following the transition depend on the existing contractual setup.

  • Fund management companies paying platform fees via Euroclear Bank
    • Euroclear Bank remains the contractual service provider.
    • KYBIX operates the platform under an outsourcing arrangement that has been put in place between KYBIX and Euroclear.

  • Other GlobalWatch users
    • The contractual relationship is transferred to KYBIX.
    • New KYBIX terms and conditions apply and must be accepted.

In all scenarios.

  • Data protection roles and responsibilities remain unchanged.
  • Euroclear standards for confidentiality, security and compliance continue to apply.

This structure ensures contractual clarity while maintaining continuity or responsibilities and protection for users.

Will there be any change in costs?

No immediate pricing change is introduced as part of the transition to KYBIX.

  • Existing pricing and contractual arrangements remain unchanged at the point of migration.
  • KYBIX’s future business model and pricing will be communicated transparently in due course, well ahead of any change.

Clients will always be informed in advance and given time to assess any future pricing evolution.

No unilateral pricing modification is imposed as part of the transition to KYBIX.
