Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions about our shareholder identification service, which was launched in 2021 following the implementation of the Shareholder Rights Directive II (SRD II).

What is Euroclear InvestorInsight and what is it used for?

Euroclear InvestorInsight provides issuers with a fast and reliable way to obtain a comprehensive list of shareholders in a user-friendly format. It also helps intermediaries in the custody chain to comply with SRD II requirements. The service offers high-quality data and presents it in a clear, intuitive dashboard – enabling issuers to understand the composition and evolution of their shareholder base. Intermediaries can use this tool to manage mandatory shareholder identification disclosure requests efficiently.

InvestorInsight facilitates compliance with SRD II obligation by enabling intermediaries in the custody chain to transmit required shareholder information via STP or, alternatively, through manual upload to the platform. If preferred, intermediaries can also manually respond on InvestorInsight (via upload or manual entry) rather than transmitting via SWIFT.

How do I create an account on Euroclear InvestorInsight?

You need to create an account using your professional email address and set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Then, create your entity – you can create additional user(s) for your entity. Our dedicated InvestorInsight Operational Support team is always by your side: feel free to reach out to them by phone (+33 1 55 34 51 35) or email (support.investorinsight@euroclear.com) whenever you need assistance.

How do I log in to Euroclear InvestorInsight in general, or when using a new mobile phone or Google Authenticator?

For the production environment, log in with your email and password via this access: InvestorInsight. Then, enter the six-digit code from your Google or Microsoft Authenticator into the confirmation field.

In case of a new mobile phone or Google Authenticator, you can contact us at support.investorinsight@euroclear.com or +33 1 55 34 51 35). They will send you a new link.

How can I access Euroclear InvestorInsight?

You can log in to the InvestorInsight platform or request a demo to explore its features. Existing users can access a range of solutions to optimise their investor relations activities.

How do I recover my password if I forget it?

Click on 'Forgot my password' and you will receive an email to set a new one.

How can I navigate the platform interface?

InvestorInsight is a user-friendly web-based platform.

  • As an issuer or issuer agent, you can create disclosure requests and access detailed shareholding data, historical charts and graphs. The platform operates in three simple steps.
  1. You submit a shareholder identification request through the platform, specifying the date and scope of your analysis.
  2.     Euroclear processes your request and collects the relevant data from the intermediaries in its network using standardised formats and protocols.
  3.     Euroclear delivers the results to you through the platform in a clear and concise report that you can download, analyse and export.
  • As an intermediary, you can receive mandatory shareholder identification disclosure requests and transmit the necessary shareholder information via STP or manual upload on the platform

You can access an initial report within one day from the record date and benefit from a fully automated process, with strict deadlines imposed on intermediaries. This ensures a reliable and comprehensive shareholder identification in record time, with a 98% identification rate within 5 business days.

How do I find/export data from Euroclear InvestorInsight?

The InvestorInsight platform offers seamless access to your data. Multiple reports are available for consultation or download. Once on the platform, simply hover your mouse over your request – a pop-up will appear, allowing you to download the data in your preferred format from four available options

  • Intermediaries Overview: Intermediary responses with a full view of the holding chain
  • End investor’s view: Detailed Final Beneficial Owners 
  • End investor’s view: Final Beneficial Owners Export
  • Reconciliation report: Aggregated Final Beneficial Owners

What type of securities can be identified on Euroclear InvestorInsight?

In Belgium and the Netherlands, SRD II only applies to shares on regulated markets, based on issuer’s jurisdiction.

France has extended the SRD II directive to cover all financial instruments, including equities on unregulated markets, bonds, negotiable debt securities and collective investment funds.

The Netherlands has introduced a 0.5% threshold for the disclosure requests based on the number of shares outstanding.

What file formats are supported for data export?

The data is available in Excel or CSV format – you can choose whichever suits your needs best.
